Not sure which MP3 player to buy? can’t decide which one is right for you?

Here are some Mp3 Player Buying Tips that you might consider when buying one:

Storage Media: There are two storage types that you can choose from when buying an MP3 player, one is the hard disk drive (HDD) and the other is the Flash memory.

  • Hard Drive Players – If you think you need a huge amount of space and don’t care about the physical size of your player, the hard drive MP3 player is for you. Hard-drive-based players can hold from 8GB to 80GB of music, but since hard drives have moving parts, they are not advisable for strenuous activities.
  • Flash Memory – If you need a sleek, small and durable MP3 player, the flash memory MP3 player should be the one to consider. Flash based players don’t have moving parts so they are ideal for jogging, aerobics exercises and other activities. However, unlike the hard drive players, Flash memory players come in smaller storage capacity, which ranges from 512KB to 8GB.

Storage Capacity: Depending on your budget and needs, the price of an Mp3 player depends on its storage capacity. The more megabytes, the more music it can hold and the more it will cost.

Audio File Format Support: Basically digital audio players can play MP3 file format, but its good if your player can support other file types such as Windows Media File (WMA), Advanced audio compression (AAC) and advance streaming format (ASF).

Display and Look : Different players come in different interface and design. If there are a lot of songs stored in your player, its definitely important to have a screen to at least display the song track number and title. A bigger screen size with high resolution will be important if you are considering an MP3 player that also displays photos and plays videos.

Connectivity : To transfer songs into your MP3 player, it has to be connected to a computer. A USB 2.0 support is fine since it is widely used, but a wirefire support enables you to transfer audio files in a much faster rate.

Additional Features: Most of the flash based MP3 players comes with a FM radio which is really a big plus. Some players have a built-in voice recorder, a high quality headphones, a belt clip, or an armband. These usually comes with the player free of charge, so it would be a big plus to have these additional features.

Same as other gadgets, it’s still best to consider your own preference and how you want to use your gadget. Its just as easy as buying your  auto accessories

  2. You forgot to mention sound quality. The following brands offer superior sound quality: Cowon, Creative, Samsung, and Sony. Apple’s offerings, on the other hand, have sound quality that is no better than most music oriented mobile phones provide.
