Alcatel One Touch 890D Dual SIM Android Phone

One Touch 890D phone is very functional to use. Although it is not equipped with dual core, it is a dual SIM phone allowing you in changing SIM cards effortlessly. I like its operating system from Google’s Android 2.2 (Froyo). Also, if you are a music lover and wants to hear the latest song from the radio, this phone is the ideal choice. It is featured with FM radio with RDS.

Yet, there’s one disadvantage for One Touch 890D as reported by other users, the phone keeps hanging when multiple applications are open. In spite of this, it is still fun to use because you can enjoy playing angry birds on its 2’8″ resistive touch screen display.

You can do this by using a free software but I find sending the PDF file to amazon for them to convert your PDF files to kindle format much convenient and easier.

Why use different ROMs? well, its one of the advantages of having an Android phone, the capability to customize your phone to fit your style and personal preferences.

I had tried several ROMs already but I only listed below the ones that I find worth recommending. I’ll just give a brief overview of each for now. Will talk about them in detail on another post maybe.

The stock android ROM that is installed in my HTC Desire is the one with HTC Sense.But I am not really a fan of sense so I usually use ROMs that are non-sense lol

1. Oxygen 2.0 – This is based on Android Gingerbread v2.3.3 built from AOSP (Android Open Source Project). Its a cool, clean and fast ROM.
2. MIUI AU (froyo) – I used this ROM for the longest time I know. This ROM is famous for its beautiful interface and lots of additional features. Totally different from the traditional Android interface and features that you probably familiar with. I stopped using it since I got tired of constantly updating my phone (weekly).
3. SuperVillain – This is my base ROM. Super clean, No Sense, stock-like, Froyo Base ROM. I always get back to this ROM in cases I encountered problems with the ROMs that I tried.
4. Villain ROM – Same with SuperVillain but with HTC Sense. All unnecessary apps removed.
5. Villain AU – This is the ROM that I am currently using, and I have been using it for almost two weeks now. I’m sticking with it since it makes my HTC Desire last for two days, which usually lasts for almost 15 hours on other ROMs.

There are other ROMs out there for your rooted Desire. You may want to try them and decide which one fits your style and needs. Just a warning though, flashing ROMs is really addicting

I have been wanting to buy a cable organizer or some cable ties but it’s really hard to find one. I had seen several types like the Velcro cable tie and the nylon cable tie type where you need a specialized gun to use them, but what I am actually looking for are the cable ties usually comes in my new gadget. You know the one that you can just twist and untwist?

So maybe you can imagine my joy when I saw this at Office Warehouse:

I am actually reusing the ones used in my gadgets but I usually misplace them So imagine my frustration when I need a cable tie and  there is nothing to find.

At least now whenever I need a cable tie or misplaced one, I always have some cable ties (with attached cutter) in my drawer that I can readily use
