Why buy the MyPhone Q21 Duo?
You maybe wondering why I bought this phone instead of some known brands. I choose my gadgets based on my needs and considering what I can afford or how much I am willing to spend. I believe that not all latest and known brands really can answer what I really need. I also take risks on some new brands, like my Neo Laptop, which is now over 2 1/2 years, alive and kicking .

Where to buy the Myphone Q21 duo
I bought mine at Compex, SM San Lazaro Branch. I assume that most of the Compex Branches carries the said phone.
You can try to look at the ff. shops, I saw the Myphone Q21 or at least a Myphone brand on their display (All at SM):

Price
Got mine for PHP4750.00. It was on sale then. Less 200 if I remember it right.
Connectivity
It doesn’t have wi-fi. You can connect to the internet using GPRS. MMS and GPRS settings for Globe,Smart and Sun Cellular are already configured in the phone. Just double check if they are correct . Settings can be found at Myphone Q21 page at the myphone site.
Firmware
I used to add the firmware information, but I think this is not needed anymore
Myphone Q21 PC Suite
It comes with a mini CD containing the PC suite. Though, in my opinion this is not necessary since you don’t need one when you need to transfer files from PC to phone. Please see my post on connecting your phone to a PC using the PC Suite.
Security
It has the basic key lock function. Nothing more.

Texting and Messaging on Myphone
Typing long text is just the same as typing short ones and of course, texting in a a qwerty keyboard is much much easier than multi tap. Others are concerned about the period key not directly available in the keypad. Its a matter of getting used to it actually. I use the [sym] key in inserting period. Period is the first entry in the list so its just easier to use that ( for me) than pressing [alt][M].
Myphone can hold maximum of 1000 messages combined. Meaning, if the total messages for both SIMs reached 1000, you are notified a no space for new message warning.
Phone Navigation
Drafts or unsent messages are saved in the the outbox. For drafts, all you can see when browsing messages is the word ‘No Number’. So I guess its hard to identify which is which.
Unlike the usual phones, there is no way for you to track your sent items since sent messages are not saved in the outbox or no sent messages folder.
Battery and Charging
The phone will last approximately 2 days (heavy texting, maximum 1hr call. charging time is approximately 2-3hrs?
The phone comes with a USB cable and this can also be used to charge myphone q21 via your computer’s USB. The travel charger serves like a AC/USB Adaptor, where in the USB cable can be detached when you want to connect/charge the phone using your computer.
Camera and Video Recorder
Yes, it can record videos. The video format saved is .AVI. It can play videos of several formats, but I haven’t tried playing them all. I only tried playing the AVI file. Though, it is reported (from one of my readers ), that the phone is not capable of playing MP4 files. I still need to confirm this.
Don’t expect high quality pictures from this phone
Memory
It is expandable up to 2GB
Themes
You can only change the wallpaper. You cannot change the phone theme, font and color.
Available colors – Originally, black only, but other users reported other colors such as Yellow Ninoy Version, White, Red and Pink. Though I haven’t seen these new colors yet lol.
Sounds and Radio
The phone produces a very loud sound that is smooth, not ‘basag’ hehe, when the built in speaker is used . I can give this phone a 9.0 grade with 10 is the highest in this category. But don’t expect much with the included headset. The headset produces low quality sound.
It is also equipped with an FM radio. As usual, use the headset for it to work.
How to adjust volume of Audio Player?: Just press the ‘+’ (plus) key to make it louder, the ‘-’ (minus) key otherwise.
Ebook Reader
The only format that it’s capable of reading is the text format (.txt files)
Myphone q21 is a cool phone for everyday use. Just don’t expect much from it other than calling and texting. This is a cheap phone that is created for that purpose.

If you are not familiar with the firmware thing and u havent tried that before, ok lang naman. wag mo na ipa update. I guess ordinary people dont mind
Hello to all! just bought my Q21 last sunday,e2 ang mga na downside na experience ko
~2 days ago, hindi na ka smooth i press ang “r” key, i need to press harder, unlike sa katabing keys.
Q: pwede bang ireplace ang unit agad?
~3 days ago, nasira agad ang headset ko. so lowtech. im attaching its earphone to Griffin earjam (parang earbuds na adaptor kasi nalalaglay ang kahit anong earphones except pag earbud ang type) ayun pati ung wire sa loob na hila ko.huhuhu
so sad na nila kasama sa warranty ang earphones. ive already oder for new one, which cost Php140. until further notice pa ang availability.
Q: meron bang available na ibang headset sa ghills/mall na pwede sa Q21? ung earbuds?

depende kung san mo binili. sa akin kasi may mga warranty options na binigay, pero direct sa myphone na
tanong ka na lang sa service centers nila kung ano option na pwede. Ayoko ko kasi nagbibibili sa greenhils hehe di ko alam kung ano available dun.

How do you access the shortcuts? Cuz I set up the order of how they would appear, but I don’t even know how to get to the shortcut menu or whatever…o_o
