This is the functionality that I really had a hard time figuring out. Well yeah I’m so lazy to read the manual hehe. Besides, O2 XDA Atom uses the word ‘Beam’ instead of ‘Send via bluetooth’ which I’m familiar with. Oh excuses!

With Bluetooth capability, devices can exchange information within a distance of about 10 meters without requiring a physical connection. Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology.

Source: O2 XDA Atom Manual

To start with, lets activate the BlueTooth:

1. Tap the signal icon at the top of the screen, a dialog window will pop out.
2. Just select the Wireless Manager option.
3. Tap the bluetooth area or select the bluetooth settings entry under the Menu option to activate your device’s bluetooth and make it discoverable (not needed when sending file) at the same time

4. The bluetooth section of the wireless manager. This is to indicate that your device is ready to communicate with other bluetooth enabled devices.
5. Upon activation, you’ll see the word ‘Discoverable’ in

So what’s next?

Device Pairing

To exchange information in a secure manner, you may use a bond to create relationship between your Xda Atom and another Bluetooth device. To create bond, you need to enter the same personal identification number (PIN) on the two devices that you want to bond. You need only create a bond once between two devices Source: O2 XDA Atom Manual

To pair your device with other bluetooth enabled devices:

Go to Wireless Manager ( Just check the procedure above on how to activate Wireless Manager).

Click Menu and select Bluetooth Settings

On the bluetooth settings, click the DEVICES tab. The list of existing partnership with other devices will be displayed.

Just select the ‘NEW PARTNERSHIP’ option. Your device searches for other Bluetooth devices and displays them in the list.

Tap the device you want to pair with and click NEXT.

Enter the security PIN when prompted and click NEXT

Enter the same PIN on the other device

Tap FINISH. When the pairing is successful, the device will be included in the list of paired devices.

Sending Files

1.Tap and hold an item to beam, such as an appointment in Calendar, a task in tasks, a contact card in Contacts, or a file in File Manager.
2. Tap Beam [type of item].
3. Tap the device to which you want to send the beam. The item is beamed to the device you selected.

That’s It!

Note: To get some information about the application I used on capturing my smart phone’s screen, You can check my post regarding Pocket Snapshot
